About the Studio

BIG IDEAS, SMART BUDGETS.

Working with us feels simple — straightforward communication, real relationships, and people who genuinely care about what they make. We work together as a team, and we all have fun doing it.

We keep things lean by design. A crew sized exactly to the job — full-scale when a project calls for it, minimal when it doesn't — so more of the budget goes into the work itself.

What We Do
01
Creative Direction
Concept to screen. We take the lead on creative vision across all formats, from brand films to campaign series — and we're just as comfortable working alongside in-house creative teams, developing ideas together.
02
Film Production
End-to-end production for brand films, commercials and documentary-style content.
03
Photography
Stills with a cinematic sensibility. Campaigns, editorial and product photography.
04
Campaign Production
Integrated campaigns across film, photography and digital, built around a single creative idea.
05
Content Production
Social and digital content that retains craft and visual intelligence at any format.
06
Post Production
Editing, colour grade and finishing — including bespoke music composition — with the same attention to detail as the shoot itself.
07
Motion Graphics
Titles, animation and graphic elements that add polish and clarity, built to match the tone and craft of the piece.
08
AI-Assisted Production
Used thoughtfully — to enhance what we capture when it genuinely adds something, and to streamline the process so we can spend less time on admin and more on the fun stuff.
09
Styling & Production Design
Set design, prop sourcing, product and fashion styling, makeup artists and ateliers — the specialists who make sure every last detail is covered.

GOOD PEOPLE,
GREAT WORK

ottowilf is named after our founder's two little boys — a small statement of intent for how we like to work with people. The collaborators you'll find here aren't a roster of contractors. They're friends, and in some cases family — people we've trusted with ideas, shared long shoot days and difficult briefs with, and built a mutual respect that shows in the work.

They come with a wealth of experience — and in some cases, a van full of toys. From DOP's to Drone Pilots and Ateliers to Art Directors, we cover every base of a production; some are specialists in one field, others produce, direct and self-shoot when the brief calls for it. Every person here has been chosen for the quality of their work, not to pad out a crew list. Click any portrait to find out more.

Our People 8 people

TALENTED PEOPLE.
NO UNNECESSARY BODIES ON SET.

When a project needs a full crew, it gets one. When it doesn't, we won't pretend otherwise. We never scale down to cut corners, and we never scale up to make a client feel like they're getting more than they're paying for. The crew is always the right size for the work — nothing more, nothing less.

What People Say

DON'T JUST TAKE
OUR WORD FOR IT

A few words from the clients and partners ottowilf has worked alongside — on set, in the edit, and everywhere in between.

ottowilf crew on set reviewing a shot

"Having worked with ottowilf on a variety of projects, from product photography to TV and social films, the team has continually proved to be full of many hats — moving comfortably between producing and directing on the same job. Their obsessive attention to detail, savvy technical know-how and ability to think on their feet mean projects are handled with total calm and professionalism. If you don't believe us, just try keeping your cool whilst getting a freshly groomed, bright white Samoyed to sit in frame next to a muddy puddle in February in the UK.

Most importantly, they're also just thoroughly good people — the kind you want to share a pint with at the end of a long shoot day, and don't mind doing it all over again on the next one, knowing they won't stop until it's not just good, but great."

Cameron Black & Liam Nicholson
Associate Creative Directors, Hey Human

"I've had the pleasure of working with ottowilf across a range of projects over the past few years, from smaller-scale customer testimonials to our flagship TV commercial. They have consistently delivered high-quality, engaging content that captures our brand and messaging with clarity and creativity.

Their communication is always prompt, professional, and thoughtful, which makes the production process smooth and collaborative from start to finish. When it came time to develop our TVC, ottowilf was the clear choice to lead the creative. Their strengths in concept development, storytelling, and end-to-end production ensured the project ran efficiently and produced a result we were proud to deliver.

ottowilf is a real creative partner. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with the team and look forward to our future collaborations."

Imogen Payne
Digital Marketing Lead, Rocal Group

"A huge shout out to the ottowilf team — from end to end you've been cool as a cucumber. The clients are happy, and we're also excited about the outcome. Thanks for working so collaboratively."

Yasmin Cole

ottowilf came on as production partner to creative agency Hey Human for the launch of Protexin, delivering both a hero online advertising film and a full stills campaign used across the brand's website and online retail partners.

We led all pre-production — casting every featured dog, scouting locations and storyboarding the shoot — then worked closely with commercial pet photographer Jade Kiddell to capture the campaign stills. On set, a full production crew including dog groomers (complete with their own grooming trailer) and an on-set vet kept the animal talent camera-ready and safe throughout filming.

Production Overview

ottowilf led full production and direction on a national TV commercial for Endurance Doors — "Design your dream door" — working directly with client Rocal Group from concept through to final delivery, collaborating closely to develop the creative vision and ensure the brand's values came through clearly on screen.

A skilled, efficient crew was brought together to shoot across multiple locations throughout the UK, capturing both the TVC and a stills campaign used across the wider integrated push. To maintain a high production value on a tight budget, AI-generated voiceover and sound design were used in post-production — cutting cost without compromising quality.

The finished campaign ran across Sky On Demand and YouTube, delivering a 30% increase in leads generated in targeted areas, a 121% increase in website traffic from video content within six months, and 1.3 million views within twelve months.

Production Overview

Partnering with agency Hey Human, ottowilf directed a series of humorous social ads for SlimFast, highlighting the gap between mealtime expectations and real-life reality.

Each spot opened with a polished "expectation" — think an Insta-worthy poke bowl or perfectly formed protein balls — before cutting sharply to a messier, far more relatable reality. SlimFast then stepped in as the smart, time-saving solution: balanced nutrition, made easy and fast.

Alongside directing the motion content, we oversaw the lifestyle still imagery and e-commerce pack shots, giving the brand a cohesive visual suite across digital, retail and campaign platforms — paced for maximum impact on social, with a playful tone that positioned SlimFast as the go-to option for busy lives.

Production Overview

Hey Human needed a trusted production partner to take full ownership of a complex, week-long stills campaign for HSBC Innovation Banking — spanning multiple locations, with each requiring several spaces dressed, a large cast, and an extremely tight schedule. The brief called for seamless coordination across agency, cast, crew and suppliers, while maintaining the highest creative standards throughout.

One of the production's most ambitious elements was the creation of several fully dressed environments, in some cases built entirely from scratch. Working with a very limited budget, each set was conceived, sourced and brought to life through creative set dressing and prop fabrication — transforming raw spaces into authentic, camera-ready locations.

The standout transformation was a fully convincing airport departure lounge, created within a vacant laboratory space and dressed with sourced furniture, signage, props and lighting to completely transform the environment — the kind of creative problem-solving that sits at the heart of good producing, making the budget work harder than it looks on screen.

Production Overview

Working freelance for production company Inside Job Productions, Rob took on a mixture of roles across a series of social impact films for Sense — moving between creative producer/director and self-shooting producer/director depending on the brief, with Yoann Desmoyers-Davis brought on as DOP for select projects. It's exactly the kind of partnership ottowilf loves — IJP is an award-winning social enterprise that reinvests its profits into training and employment for people with experience of the criminal justice system and lived experience of mental ill health.

Across the series, the films have brought to life numerous stories of the people Sense supports in authentic and genuine ways — with an amazing ability to get to the heart of each story using a sensitive and compassionate approach.
